Virgil Moore
Violinist Virgil Moore began musical studies at the age of 9, and studied with Joseph Nigro and Dr. Yevgeniy Dovgalyuk of the National Symphony. He served as Concertmaster of the Lynchburg Symphony Youth Orchestra, and is a member of the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, Randolph College Chamber Orchestra, and the James Chamber Players. Virgil was the 2017 LSYO Concerto Competition Winner, and competed in the Richmond Symphony Concerto Competition in 2020. Virgil has attended numerous summer music festivals, including the James String Quartet Academy, Wintergreen Summer Music Festival, The Sphinx Performance Academy and the Meadowmount School of Music. He has performed in masterclasses for Rachel Barton Pine, James Ehnes, and Elisabeth Adkins. Virgil is currently a freshman at the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University studying with Amy Schwartz Moretti, Robert McDuffie, and David Kim.
